Robby Fabbri has been hit with yet another injury, ending his season.
The Detroit Red Wings have announced that forward Robby Fabbri will miss the remainder of the regular season.
Fabbri played 28 games this year in Detroit, scoring seven goals and 16 points with a -1 rating. The Red Wings had tentative playoff hopes this year and the injury shortened season for Fabbri hurt Detroit’s forward depth in a big way. The St. Louis Blues selected Fabbri with the 21st overall pick in the 2014 NHL Draft. He played three seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Guelph Storm, scoring 80 goals and 171 points in 147 games. In the two years between his draft day and his NHL debut, Fabbri solidified himself as a top NHL prospect.
The Mississauga, Ontario native followed that up with a solid sophomore season, scoring 29 points in 51 games. But then the injury bug struck him and he ended up missing the entire 2017-18 season with a serious knee injury.
