Ottawa 67\u0027s coach Dave Cameron becomes the third coach in franchise history to win OHL coach of the year, joining Brian Kilrea and André Tourigny.
After defeating the Oshawa Generals in five games in the opening round of the playoffs, the 67’s currently trail the Peterborough Petes two games to one in the second round.
“It truly is an organizational award,” he said. “You can’t win an award on your own. We’ve got good ownership and the scouting staff has made this team competitive for a long time. That’s a lot of work in a lot of cold rinks. You can’t win coach of the year if you don’t have good players.”Article content
Cameron took a young 67’s team to the playoffs in his first season in 2021-22 and followed it up with the surprising run this season.
