Kensington Mayor Rowan Caseley is excited to hear that 10 social housing units are planned in his town. – Kristin Gardiner Although Kensington struggles at times to keep up with its demand for housing, Caseley said “it’s great” to see progress being made.This social housing announcement, said MacKay, is one of several the province expects to announce in the next six months. The longer-term plan, he told SaltWire Network, aims to bring the housing vacancy rate to four per cent.
“We’ve known for a long time now that we don’t have the numbers for housing with our population growth,” said MacKay. “We know we need to put as many units as we can into the market and that’s what we’re prepared to do.”

Bell and Telus customers will face higher roaming rates beginning next weekTORONTO — Some Canadians will pay more to use their cellphones while travelling abroad beginning next week. Telus and Bell say they are raising roaming rates, effective March 8 and 9, respectively. Telus says on its website that its customers will pay $14 daily to roam in the U.S., up from $12, while those visiting other destinations will be charged $16, which marks a $1 increase.
