Three Ottawa\u002Darea conservation authorities are warning residents of the potential for flooding as temperatures rise and more snow melts due to a slate of warm weather set to follow the ice storm.

includes low-lying roads and waterfront properties adjacent to Stevens Creek near North Gower and connected creeks or ditches, as well as the Rideau River near Becketts Landing and Kemptville Creek, particularly around Hilly Lane, Rideau Glen Lane, Golf Course Lane, Barts Lane and Cedar Beach Lane.

Low lying properties close to the Rideau River on Rideau River Lane and the community of Rideau Gardens are also under watch. “We hope snow melt will slow down in the next few days as temperatures drop,” said North. “It all depends on how quickly the rest of the snow melts. Both conservation authorities reminded residents to stay off of ice-covered waterways and make sure pets and children don’t stray onto the ice.
