She and her husband, Gary, have published eight photographic and paddling instruction books with the goal of encouraging others to travel safely and respectfully in nature.
Joanie has worked to support healthy waterways, wild places and vibrant communities around Lake Superior through conservation, education and active participation for over 30 years. A steadfast advocate for long-standing change and protecting natural resources, Joanie’s endeavours have undoubtedly helped to sustain a healthy Lake Superior watershed for future generations.
