I first had to clarify that the festival is for everyone, but yes — the films we show are by women creators.was born.
That’s why the St. John’s International Film Festival exists — to get more women working in film, especially in roles where they have the power to tell the stories they want to tell, the way they want to tell them. It matters who’s behind the camera, and in front of it. Because it matters what our kids are seeing on the screen.citing the underrepresentation of female directors in 2021 and 2022.
