After losing its opening game 2\u002D0 to the host United States at Exploria Stadium on Thursday, Canada travelled to Nashville to play Brazil
“Moving locations, we did a review when we got to Nashville last night and parked Game 1, and I think in tournament football, you have to move on very quickly,” Priestman said. “I would say in regards to the mood, it’s a new environment, it’s fresh, but there are still lingerings. I don’t think you can hide from that; I still feel that and see that.Article content
Canada played the game under protest Thursday, wearing purple t-shirts with the words, ‘Enough is Enough’ written on them during warm-ups and through the national anthems. “I’m approaching these games knowing I have to select a World Cup squad and trying different things to blend the results now, to where we’re heading in the World Cup,” Priestman said. “In general, it’s nice to have a change of scenery, nice to park Game 1 and get ready for Game 2.”
Canada was overwhelmed early in the game against the United States on Wednesday, but did eventually settle in and had some good moments. Not having played since those two games in Brazil, facing the defending Women’s World Cup champions and going into the contest under protest, it was understandable Canada were a step behind at the kickoff.
