The CUPE 933 announced the news via social media post on Twitter. In the tweet, the union said a vote will be held on Wednesday on whether or not to ratify the agreement. There will be a vote held tomorrow November 16, 2022 on weather or not to ratify the agreement.The union represents 138 CBRM workers in the citizen service centre, some positions in various departments such as public works, transit and facilities, the 911 and 311 operation centres, police records and lock-up staff.
The union rejected a tentative deal offer from Sept. 15, with outstanding issues in the negotiations ranging from wages, bereavement leave, parental/adoption leave and wage parity to shift differential pay. Plans for strike action had been put on hold due to the aftermath of post-tropical storm Fiona.It has been our privilege to have the trust and support of our East Coast communities for the last 200 years.
