IAN NATHANSON/CAPE BRETON POSTSYDNEY, N.S. — The union representing the Cape Breton Regional Municipality’s inside workers say they’re mobilizing for imminent strike action.
The union represents 138 CBRM workers in the citizen service centre, some positions in various departments such as public works, transit and facilities, the 911 and 311 operation centres, police records and lock-up staff.Colbourne said the union did touch base with the CBRM with a query on benefits pay should inside workers take to the picket lines.

CONTRIBUTEDThe union rejected a tentative deal offer from Sept. 15, with outstanding issues in the negotiations ranging from wages, bereavement leave, parental/adoption leave and wage parity to shift differential pay.
