Longtime CBC journalist Gillian Findlay is quitting her role with the public broadcaster after a dispute over remote work.
Findlay closed her message by writing, “I regret this outcome, not least because this leaves– for the first time in its nearly 50-year history – without a permanent female host.”had a virtual work deal similar to the one that she was blocked from.
“Gillian Findlay chose to retire, we were sorry to lose her. She is an incredible journalist,” Thompson wrote. A four time Gemini/Canadian Screen award winner, Findlay started her career with CBC News in Vancouver as a general-assignment reporter before becoming the broadcaster’s London correspondent in 1991.Article content
