On Tuesday, state prosecutors said Alejandro Alvarado, head of the prison, had been dismissed, and is also under investigation for his possible role in the jailbreak, alongside others. He went on to become head of Los Mexicles Special Forces, an armed group affiliated to the Sinaloa cartel. Police were setting up checkpoints at roads across the state of Chihuahua, and at airports, as they hunted for El Neto and associates.
