Colten Ellis over River Denys was called up by the Springfield Thunderbirds, the affiliate of the NHL's St. Louis Blues, after spending the majority of the year with the Tulsa Oilers of the ECHL. The 22-year-old Ellis appeared in 27 games with the Oilers this season, posting a 12-9-5-0 record with a 3.46 goals-against average and a .888 save percentage. He has yet to play a game with the Thunderbirds this season.
Ellis was a third-round pick over the Blues at the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
