Cape Breton Regional Police Logo. - CAPE BRETON POST FILESYDNEY — Having stopped more than 5,000 vehicles in the final three weeks of the year, Cape Breton Regional Police report only charging one driver with impaired operation.
During that period, only one driver, a 52-year-old man from Sydney Mines, was charged Dec. 21 with impaired driving and other related offences. A 42-year-old female from Sydney, stopped Jan. 1, and a 52-year-old man from Glace Bay, stopped Jan. 2, were also charged with impaired related offences. Police remind motorists that impaired driving can be deadly whether a vehicle, or an ATV, motorcycle, snowmobile, boat or other forms of transportation.
