A bullet found by the Cape Breton Post on the driveway of the home next to the Highland Motel in North Sydney on Thursday, exactly one week after Cape Breton Regional Police arrested a man after receiving reports of gunshots. Young is charged with four counts of mischief, possession and careless use of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assaulting a peace officer and breaches of previous court-ordered conditions. Staff confirmed room 19 at the Highland Motel is where the alleged shooting on Oct. 6 took place. The windows are boarded and there is a hole in the wall. An eyewitness who lives in the area, who asked not to be identified, said the broken windows were due to the gunshots. Police said there were no injuries from the incident. MacDonald and multiple other people who live near the motel told the Post they were not notified by police about the shooting during the two hours they were on scene. A shed on a property near the Highland Motel, with what appears to be bullet holes circled and numbered. A neighbour, who asked not to be named, told the Cape Breton Post there was damage to at least one neighbouring property after an alleged shooting at the motel on Oct. 6.
