“I’ve been having asthma attacks after and I slept four hours. I was thinking of not doing the 1000m because my lungs were so bad; I was barely breathing. But then we figured out a plan to ease the symptoms a little bit. The doctor was very helpful and it made me more confident to attack this race. It’s scary having an asthma crisis after every race.”

“Maybe I’m not as good in the 1000 as in the 500, where I win most races right now,” he said, “but I think I’m still first overall right now; I feel I’m among the best in the world. It’s better than it’s ever been. I hope to turn these silvers into gold.
