“The word Canada, having that in our name, has really helped us over the years,” Reiss says. “We have become an unofficial ambassador for Canada as we’ve grown.” “People said there was no way that, with any scale at all, that we would be able to remain made-in-Canada,” he recalls. “But we did.” The company’s wares, which include down jackets, vests, parkas, boots and more are currently sold in more than 60 countries, with China and Japan among its strongest retail markets.
“Canada Goose’s success here in Korea is testament to its brand positioning and associated to its strong Canadian identity,” Mawhinney said, adding that the launch is well-timed as 2023 marks the 60th anniversary of “diplomatic relations” between Canada and South Korea.
