Same story for Friday’s Game 2.There’s no reason not to. These guys are the future of the Flames. But first, they’re Calder Cup frontrunners. And, as they embark on this quest for an AHL championship, they are Calgary’s team.
“We were just joking out there — ‘Hey, look, we have some media here today,’ ” quipped Wranglers centre Kevin Rooney, a guy who started the season in The Show, after a practice this past week. “It seems like there is a good buzz going around Calgary right now. It’s nice. We’ve had a great year and have a lot of great players on this team, so I think it’s deserving. We’re really excited.”
