Malcolm Farris took the top spot on the podium for the Canada Cup competition. ContributedSUN PEAKS, B.C. — Brookfield freestyle skier Malcolm Farris conquered theCompeting against 67 other athletes in the Big Air discipline, ranging in age from 12 to 20, 16-year-old Farris displayed his growing skill set and confidence in his second event of the year.
“We had the same competition there last year and, obviously, I didn’t do as well as I did this year, but it was still good. So I had been there before and kind of knew what to expect,” he said, acknowledging the familiarity helped his success this time around. “The Wentworth Freestyle Team is what I’m on and we had three athletes, including me, go to Whitehorse and then we had eight athletes in B.C. last weekend,” he said. “A lot of them are from Halifax but they all ski out of Wentworth and train there throughout the season.”being held in P.E.I. Farris said, for him, it’s the Ontario competition, one in Calgary and then the one he is really looking forward to, which will be held in Aspen, Colorado.– it’s a North American competition,” he said.
