CBC journalist Michael Finlay dies after random attack on Danforth
A longtime former CBC Radio journalist has died from medical complications following a random assault on a Danforth Avenue sidewalk, CBC is reporting.
“You talk to any of his friends and colleagues, and they will tell you he was brilliant, absolutely brilliant. Just an incredible mind,” Morrison said, describing a friendship that began earlier in their careers when Finlay worked at the Vancouver Sun. “It’s just tragic seeing this happen to a guy you’ve known for almost half a century,” Morrison said.
