Breaking: Brampton mayoral candidate Nikki Kaur plans to sue city over alleged firing

A letter from Kaur’s lawyers at Massey LLP obtained by the Star, dated Wednesday and addressed to Brampton’s acting city solicitor, instructed the city to preserve any documents and records related to Kaur’s dismissal. “This letter will serve as notice that Ms. Kaur is preparing to pursue litigation,” it said.
It lists several individuals whose city devices are asked to be preserved: Brown, his chief of staff, director of communications, senior adviser, driver and personal assistant and executive assistant, the city’s interim chief administrative officer, its city clerk, its commissioner of legislative services, its fire chief and its commissioner of Planning, Building and Growth Management, where Kaur had worked as a director.
She pointed blame for the decision squarely at Brown — who, on Monday night, had been re-elected over Kaur with 59.65 per cent of the vote to her 25.55 per cent.
