The shutdown affects riders in the Agassiz-Harrison, Central Fraser Valley, Chilliwack and Hope transit systems and users of the Fraser Valley Express. It will remain in place until further notice. “B.C. Transit is closely monitoring the situation and sincerely apologizes to customers for the inconvenience caused by this matter,” said the transit agency in a release. “We understand the frustration felt by customers, and that the job action is difficult for everyone involved in the region.”
B.C. Transit is a provincial Crown agency responsible for transit services outside Greater Vancouver that contracts out to private operating companies that do hiring and management of the services.
