Weather is unlikely to allow Atlantic Canadians to view Comet E3 on its closest approach to Earth

Despite this colourful image from NASA's James Webb Space Telescope, stars have no colour. To astronomers, a star's colour is related to several factors, chief among them the star's surface temperature, its composition and its distance from an observer.

A black body is defined as a body that both spontaneously and continuously absorbs and emits electromagnetic radiation in thermal equilibrium at a given temperature. French physicist Hippolyte Fitzeau independently associated the same phenomenon to electromagnetic waves in 1848. A star actually has no colour, it is merely a point of white light shining in the darkness of space. The star's colour is created within the brain of the observer , with the assistance of the human eye.

Unfortunately, the weather for us here in the Atlantic Region is not going to cooperate, with cloud forecast for that night, so it is unlikely that we will see it on that date.
