P.E.I. Health Minister Ernie Hudson met with his counterparts from other Atlantic Canadian province's on Monday, Jan. 30. FileCHARLOTTETOWN, N.L. — Health ministers from Atlantic Canada met in Charlottetown on Monday to discuss health priorities in an effort to tackle health-care issues throughout the region.
P.E.I. Health Minister Ernie Hudson chaired the meeting and was joined by Nova Scotia Health Minister Michelle Thompson, Newfoundland and Labrador Health Minister Tom Osborne and Lee Burry, the assistant deputy health minister for New Brunswick. During the meeting, ministers heard from groups, including the Canadian Medical Association, the Medical Society of P.E.I. and the P.E.I. College of Physicians and Surgeons. They also talked about common licensing within the region, mobility of physicians and nurses and reducing barriers for certifying foreign-trained workers.
