The B.C. Court of Appeal has released a ruling in the case of a man convicted of murdering two neighbours despite the fact that he is dead.

Several weeks before the slayings, Landrick was under the delusion, exacerbated by alcohol and crack cocaine use, that McInnes and Croker had rendered him unconscious and that Croker had raped him. B.C. Supreme Court Justice Ronald Skolrood, the trial judge, ordered a psychiatric report to be prepared that would look at the issue of whether Landrick was suffering from a mental disorder at the time of the offences that rendered him incapable of understanding his actions were morally wrong.Article content

In January, his appeal was heard in B.C.’s highest court with the three-judge panel reserving judgment.
