She was wearing a short wetsuit along with neoprene boots and gloves. - Jason MalloySandra and Mike Reid, of New Minas, founded the non-profit organization in May 2022 after Mike had a double lung transplant in November 2020. It is named after their three children .

The society focusing on helping the community through acts of kindness. It has included a recent fundraising dance for a lung transplant recipient and a dinner for the Valley Regional Hospital Foundation’s Breath Well Campaign. Mike and Sandra are preparing for a big announcement in early February about an event coming up in late summer.

Kelsey Dempsey, centre, decided to add a fundraising component to the Polar Bear Dip at the Kingsport Beach. Donations went to GLS Society for Health and Life, which was founded by Sandra and Mike Reid as a way to give back to the community. - Jason Malloy
