A new business offering offer meats, ready take-home meals, pantry goods and custom spices and more out of the 124-year-old Grace Building on Water Street is the brainchild of chef Nick Howard and Newfoundland Sausage Company owner Will Dray.

Dray and his partner, Jessica Coffey, were so busy preparing for the day they would often miss the forming line, too. Sometimes, it extended down the road well past the walls of the building. “I could feel that we needed to change. Selling out and then having to close the doors, only being open on Saturday, it started to give me quite a bit of anxiety. “It’s not just you’re coming in and getting a cut of meat … it’s more like you’re walking into what we think is the future of this industry,” Dray said.While standing in front of the building, a man takes out his earbuds and asks when Andersons will be opened, an expression of excitement written plainly across his face.
“Anderson founded the building and operated a dry goods store from these premises from 1898 to 1913, dedicating his life to the community. When establishing the brand, we wanted to tip our hats to the past and acknowledge all of those who paved the way for us to be here. Now we’re ready to take the torch and run with it.”
