Raptors lean on Pascal Siakam to hold off last-place Pistons
Early start, dull opponent, just another game in a long list of them. There was every reason to think Saturday’s noon start for the Raptors and Detroit Pistons would be an ugly one.
The accomplishment in itself is not hugely noteworthy. A Raptors team that seems to have found its groove with seven wins in its last eight gamesLoading...Even without Fred VanVleet, who missed his second straight game for personal reasons, the Raptors are significantly more talented than the Pistons.happens, and there were times when it looked like the Raptors were going to come up with another awful game when simply good would have been good enough.
It was the sixth game in a row in which Siakam had more than 25 points, the second time this season he’s reached that level of consistency. This from the guy who recently made clear his disdain for losing. Outside of Siakam’s 9-for-19 shooting, the Raptors were 24-for-69 from the field, outrebounded 62-46 and missed 12 free throws.
