A cold front that is drawing on tropical moisture is slowly moving east through our region. However, it’s also encountering a blocking high, which is trying to dry up the moisture within it.
Tropical moisture pulling into a cold front will bring significant rain for some, but not everyone.It’s typical that after a nice week weather-wise, wet weather arrives during the weekend.
More scattered showers or periods of rain develop for the rest of Mainland Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island heading into and through Saturday night. Otherwise, the system is forecast to bring two to 10 mm for the rest of Nova Scotia and P.E.I., with local pockets of 10 to 20 mm and 10 to 30-plus mm of rain across Newfoundland.Looking ahead to next week, the unsettled trend will continue.
