Low pressure set to pass off Nova Scotia will bring widespread snow to most of the Maritimes later Thursday and Thursday night.While a parade of weather systems has hit Atlantic Canada over the past week, only some provinces were affected by each passing system.
The centre of the developing low will move off Cape Cod Thursday afternoon and is forecast to track just south of Nova Scotia Thursday night. Precipitation will develop ahead of it first in western Nova Scotia and New Brunswick Thursday afternoon into the evening, spreading into eastern Nova Scotia and P.E.I. Thursday night.
Much of mainland Nova Scotia can expect 10 to 20-plus cm of snow, with lower amounts in southwestern Nova Scotia, Cape Breton, and Prince Edward Island. East and northeast wind gusts of 30 to 60 km/h develop Thursday night, becoming north and northwest on Friday but remaining strong.
