“We are offering our apologies to people of the province, but members felt they were being disrespected and had no option but to at this time.” “Although labour action has commenced, and there may be some delays, residents will continue to have access to emergency ambulance services,” a statement reads.

“Please continue to call 911 if emergency ambulance services are required, or for any threat to health, life, safety or property where an immediate response is needed from emergency services,” it states.Opposition PC Leader David Brazil said the provincial government should have tried to work with both sides to avoid the strike, and have a detailed contingency plan in place should a strike occur, instead of tossing one together at the last hour.
