The head of an organization representing Canada’s agri-food exporters says Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is in an ideal position to help P.E.I. potato producers regain U.S. market access as President Joe Biden heads to Ottawa this week.
“The timing is right to move forward on this trade issue,” he said. “I think Canada has taken all of the right steps leading up to this visit in anticipation that there might be challenges … but we’ve done our due diligence and continue to show our commitment to export food of the highest quality and safety. If our leaders are together and we can create an announcement that shows that, I welcome it.
