If HRM decides to increase the tax bill by four per cent, the tax rate will fall by six per cent from last year for residential properties and four per cent for commercial properties.The average residential property assessment is around $300,000. A four per cent increase would mean homeowners would pay an additional $86 on the average tax bill.
