The discovery of a discarded, decades-old purse in a Nanaimo backyard has provided a local woman a chance to reconnect with a middle school friend from the 1980s.
The Nanaimo RCMP say the woman, who they are only identifying as Lori, was reunited with her junior high school ID from 1981 after it was discovered in late March.
Mounties say the homeowner thought the ID could be part of a missing person case and decided to hand it over to the RCMP. Mounties say the discovery of the 42-year-old ID inspired Lori to connect with a middle school friend named Teresa.
