Rosen’s family was without power for 10 days. He remembers entering a Canadian Tire store in Gatineau looking like a sasquatch and combing through candles and batteries like he was the last human on earth. “We couldn’t get to the electrical distribution towers because of the ice and deep snow. The military were Godsends. They had tanks and armoured vehicles that could drive through deep snow dragging equipment to rebuild the towers.”
